This one is not about hating money.
It is about refusing to let earthly treasure become a master.

Jesus is pretty clear.
You cannot serve two masters. You will cling to one and slowly give yourself away to the other.

But we try to serve two masters because of the ache. We all have it.

We are trained to believe that if we just reach the next number, the next level, the next purchase, or the next upgrade, the ache will finally go quiet.

But it never does.

C.S. Lewis once observed that if nothing in this world can truly satisfy our deepest longings, then that longing itself is not accidental. It is evidence that we were made for a different world.

That dissatisfaction doesn’t always mean you don’t know how to be grateful.
This dissatisfaction might be heaven-sent; it could be a holy dissatisfaction.

It could be a gift from God that serves as a reminder that earthly treasure can build a lifestyle, but it cannot build a life.

So this design is a confession.

I have tried to build my life on a cheap imitation of what God‘s kingdom truly offers. But from here on out…
I refuse to build my hope on what can be taken, lost, or burned.
I refuse to let my heart be trained by a system that survives by keeping me endlessly unsatisfied.

But as Saint Augustine told us, “Our hearts are restless until they find rest in [Christ].” 

My treasure is not in stuff I'm gonna lose one day anyway.
My treasure is in heaven.
