Getting into Heaven is not the point of Christianity.
So when I say:

“Robbing hell to fill heaven.” 

I don’t mean getting people saved so we can get them off the earth and into heaven.
What I am trying to say is that we rob hell of its territory when we bring heaven into the middle of this earth.

Jesus taught us to pray,
Your kingdom come. 
Your will be done. 
On earth as it is in heaven.

Robbing hell means stripping the powers of this world of their influence here and now.

The gospel disarms the kingdom of darkness of its weapons:
Sin. Fear. Hatred. Violence. Pride. Despair. Death.

We enforce this by taking back what rightfully belongs to the kingdom of Christ. We do this by living like the kingdom of God really is on this earth.

So, we rob hell every time mercy triumphs over vengeance. We rob hell and fill heaven by refusing the self-indulgent patterns of the world and choosing the sacrificial pattern of Jesus.

This is how we announce the gospel, AND we embody the gospel. That is the real heist. That’s how we take back what’s ours.

It’s the True Myth.
