The True Myth Behind the Design

Jesus says, “Let the children come to me… for to such belongs the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14). He points to kids and calls them heirs.

That is why I chose a knight. A knight makes you think of courage and strength. A child makes you think of innocence and need. Putting those together tells the truth about the kind of strength God loves.

Psalm 8 says God establishes strength through the voices of children. Their praise has weight. Their joy has power.

Kids are strong in ways adults often miss. G.K. Chesterton noticed how children can enjoy the same simple thing again and again. They can laugh at the same joke. They can ask for the same game. They can find delight without needing something new.

Adults lose that strength. Wonder fades. Joy gets tired. Attention scatters.

A war is being fought over our joy. Systems compete for our attention because attention leads to affection. Affection leads to habits. Habits lead to a whole kind of person.

This design will not solve that problem. But it can remind us that there is a war for our joy. It reminds me of my daughter. It reminds me of Jesus’ words. It reminds me that childlike joy has strength, and that type of strength belongs in the kingdom.
